Shelley’s face lights up when she talks about her work. She’s been painting most of her life. Her art education consists of eight years of training under Barbara Bassett in Winter Park, Florida, classes at the Southwestern School of Art in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a smattering of workshops in Europe and all across the United States. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Sedona, Arizona; Landstuhl, Germany; Ellicott City, Maryland; Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; and Leonardtown, Maryland.
“I love to paint people,” says Shelley. “I feel like I’m honoring them, because my style reflects the heart and soul of the person. When you look at the painting, you feel as though you’ve know the person all their life; like you’ve found your long lost friend.”
